Livestock entry deadline approaching quickly for the 2023 Fair
Spencer, Iowa — The open class livestock entry deadline is rapidly approaching for the 2023 Clay County Fair powered by SMU, September 9-17.
All entries for open-class beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, rabbits, and horses are due by midnight on Monday, August 21.
Check out the exhibitor handbooks online at www.claycountyfair.com or pick one up at the Fair Administrative Offices to find the rules and guidelines to enter your livestock at the Fair. Pre-registration for all livestock departments with the exception of rabbits is mandatory and must be completed online, by mail, or in person by midnight on August 21.
Daily open-class livestock shows are a large part of the Fair with more than 500 exhibitors showing off over 2,000 head of livestock in 2022. In addition to the open class showings, several hundred FFA and 4-H exhibitors also show at the Fair. Livestock showings have been a long-standing tradition at the Fair for many to enjoy, whether you are an exhibitor or a spectator.
