Fun free entertainment to be featured on Farmers Bank Stage

Spencer, Iowa — The Farmers Bank Stage will feature six different acts at the 2023 Clay County Fair powered by SMU September 9-17, just a portion of the $180,000 in free entertainment that will be offered to fairgoers every day at the Fair.

“There is a little bit of something for everyone at the Farmers Bank Stage,” said Fair Manager Jerome Hertel. “The tent is in the southwest corner of the fairgrounds and is always a great source of free entertainment at the Fair.”

To kick off the Fair is Lizzy the Dream Girl (Sept. 9-11). Growing up in a family of entertainers, Lizzy began to master the act of comedy and hypnosis. A welcome addition to the Fair’s free entertainment, her act is bound to create smiles and laughter with her unique show.

In addition to Lizzy the Dream Girl will be The Sidekicks (Sept. 9-11). Comprised of a high-energy group of professional musicians, The Sidekicks pay tribute to history’s greatest eras of music. They provide an electric show that shares their passion for older music with everyone.

On September 12-14, the Fair will welcome Becky and The Ivanhoe Dutchman, A mix of German, Czech, and Slovenian-style polkas and waltzes, Becky and The Ivanhoe Dutchman will get your feet moving. The band has been performing throughout the United States since 1988 and knows how to put on a great show.

Also on September 12-14, The Farmers Bank stage will showcase Glenn Henriksen & Friends. A returner to the Fair, Henriksen and Friends goes above and beyond with their entertainment bringing variety to their show. You won’t want to miss this show during the Fair.

To close out the nine days, the Fair will welcome Minor Mischief (Sept. 15-17). A quintet of experienced singers, this A Cappella group will have you singing with their fun and relaxed stage presence.

Transit Authority, a Chicago tribute band, will also perform on Sept. 15-17. This eight-person group brings the sound of Chicago back to the stage performing hits such as “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”, “Hard Habit to Break”, “Make Me Smile”, and many more.

Each performer will entertain three times per day during their time at the Fair. Visit later in August when the Fair’s daily guides are released for official show times.
