Fair to Fork Market new feature at 2022 Fair
August 4, 2022
Spencer, Iowa — Fairgoers will be able to enjoy a farmer’s market experience and learn more about locally produced foods at the 2022 Clay County Fair powered by SMU, September 10-18.
“Ag education is what the Clay County Fair is all about,” said Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons. “We are excited this year to expand our ag education efforts across the fairgrounds, and this unique market will be one of the centerpieces of that effort.”
Located in the former Art Barn south of the Outdoor Arena, the Fair to Fork Market will feature vendors selling fresh produce and other locally produced food items, as well as educational exhibits from the Iowa Food and Family Project.
“We know how popular local farmer’s markets are, and we want to tie that experience to ag education,” said Parsons. “Locating this market next to our competitive exhibits in the Fields and Gardens Building will create a dynamic educational opportunity.”
Vendors in the Market will switch out daily with two timeframes available, 9:00am-1:00pm and 3:00pm-7:00pm each day of the Fair. Vendors interested in participating in the Market may contact Jason Brockshus at jason@claycountyfair.com or (712) 580-3000.
