Speedway announces 2021 plans

The Clay County Fair Speedway announces a partnership with Trent Chinn Promotions for the 2021 season. The Speedway, which will be co-promoted by Chinn and the Fair Association, will host six nights of racing in 2021, including two nights at the 2021 Clay County Fair.

“The Speedway has produced some of the best dirt track racing in the area over the past two seasons, and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Speedway is only going to continue to improve over the years to come,” said Trent Chinn of Trent Chinn Promotions. “The Speedway is going to continue to strive for greatness with the support of all the drivers, fans, sponsors and most importantly all the volunteers that put in countless hours.”

Added to this year’s feature nights, the Speedway will host a special “Salute to Veterans” race on Wednesday, July 28. The “Salute to Veterans” three-day tour will recognize hundreds of veterans at each track along with exciting racing, patriotic car wraps, notable payouts for drivers, and unparalleled patriotism at all tour stops.

“The Clay County Fair Association is thrilled to partner with one of the true up-and-coming star promoters in IMCA racing,” said Fair & Events Center CEO Jeremy Parsons.  “The fact that Trent Chinn is a Spencer native with a true passion for our Speedway makes the partnership even more special.”

Parsons continued that last year’s Speedway success is the only reason that racing is going to continue in 2021.

“After several years of losing money, the Speedway was able to operate at a profit in 2020,” he said.  “That success has given the Fair Association the confidence to proceed in 2021 despite our own financial challenges.  I am confident that we will have the same support from the local racing community (drivers, fans, and sponsors) as last year because they want to see the Speedway continue to operate.  If that support goes away, we won’t be able to continue racing.”

A finalized race schedule with dates and tour partners will be released later this winter.
