Building the Future

Building the Future

Building the Future for the Clay County Fair

The Clay County Fair & Events Center is currently in the middle of a multi-year, multi-million dollar “make-over” of it’s 260-acre property to make it a shining jewel for the next generation’s years of use.

The project will be accomplished through two equally important components:

Renovation of current facilities – many of our facilities are more than 50 years old and in need of restoration and renovation.

Construction of new facilities – the Fair could be radically different 50 years from now and we need facilities for future growth.

Primary components of “Building the Future” include:

• Construction of a new Cattle Barn

Deteriorating roofs, an inadequate and unsafe electrical grid, and uneven floors in the current Cattle Barn make a new facility for a future generation of exhibitors a priority.

• Improvements to the Fair & Events Center’s Entrance Gates with a primary focus on the north entrance off of West 18th Street

First impressions are key and beautification of the entrances will be a welcoming improvement for future visitors.

Street paving throughout the grounds

Improved accessibility through smooth, hard-surfaced streets will allow future guests to have a better Fair experience.
