Phone ticket orders for 2008 Clay County Fair Grandstand entertainment begin Monday

SPENCER, IOWA- Monday, July 14 marks the first day for Grandstand and Grand Ballroom phone ticket orders for the 2008 Clay County Fair.

Callers will be able to make ticket orders by using MasterCard or Visa purchases at 712-262-4740 ext. 771. Phone orders will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and on Sundays and Labor Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The fair’s Grandstand events will kick-off on Saturday, September 6 with Trisha Yearwood and special guest Rockapella. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. with Rockapella opening. Yearwood will follow, beginning her performance by dedicating the new Grandstand stage. Tickets for the Saturday night show are $27 reserved Grandstand seating and $22 reserved annex seating.

Sunday, September 7, Jason Aldean and special guest Eric Church will bring their country sounds to the fair. Church will start the show at 7:30 p.m. with Aldean to follow. Tickets for the show will be $24 reserved Grandstand seating and $19 reserved annex seating.

Rock n’ Roll favorites, The Diamonds and special guest The Fabulous Traidmarx, will appear at the fair on Tuesday, September 9. The Diamonds will perform two Grandstand shows at 2 and 7:30 p.m., with The Fabulous Traidmarx joining the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets for the shows will be $15 general admission.

The races come to town on Wednesday, September 10 with the World of Outlaws. Described as the “Greatest Show on Dirt”, the World of Outlaws will start at 6 p.m. Tickets for the race are $35 reserved Grandstand, adults 16 and over; $15 juniors 15 and under. General admission annex tickets will be $30 for adults 16 and over and $15 for juniors 15 and under.

The races continue on Thursday, September 11 with the Modifieds and Hobby Stocks. A racing appearance by Kenny Wallace is also scheduled for Thursday night during the race. The race will kick off at 6 p.m. with general admission tickets costing $14. If Wednesday night races are rained out, the World of Outlaws will appear in place of the Modifieds and Hobby Stocks on Thursday. In this case, Wednesday tickets will be valid for Thursday.

Country comes back to the fair on Friday, September 12 with rising superstar Josh Turner and special guest Luke Bryan. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Bryan taking the stage. Tickets for Turner and Bryan will be $35 reserved stage front standing, $30 reserved Grandstand seating and $25 reserved annex seating.

Disney’s High School Musical stars Corbin Bleu and Drew Seeley are set to appear at the fair on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $25 reserved stage front standing, $20 reserved Grandstand seating and $15 reserved annex seating.

The 2008 Clay County Fair will close with legendary group, The Beach Boys. The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famers’ will start their show at 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 14. Tickets will be $30 reserved stage front standing, $25 reserved Grandstand seating and $20 reserved annex seating.
 
All evening Grandstand events will close with a fireworks show sponsored by The Farmers Trust and Savings Bank in Spencer. 

Appearing in the Clay County Regional Events Center Grand Ballroom will be former Gaither Vocal Band member, Mark Lowry. Lowry will perform on Sunday, September 7 at 2:30 and 6 p.m. Tickets for the event will be $20 premium reserved seating and $15 reserved seating.

The 2008 Clay County Fair will run from Saturday, September 6 to Sunday, September 14.
