IMCA races come back to Clay County Fair Speedway on July 22nd

SPENCER, IOWA- Racing action returns to Spencer on Tuesday, July 22 with IMCA modifieds and IMCA stock cars, plus 360 modifieds and hobby stocks.

Racing activity will begin at 6 p.m. with pre-race announcements, hot-laps at 6:30 p.m. and the race to follow. The cost for tickets will be $15 adults 16 and over, $5 juniors 15 and under and five and under are free. Tickets will be general admission and may be purchased at the Clay County Fair Administration Office or at the Grandstands the day of the race. Pit passes will be on sale the day of the race for $25.

The July 22 race will feature four classes; IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, 360 modifieds, and hobby stocks. Drivers from all over Iowa and Minnesota are expected to appear. “We expect to see a good car count in each of the features,” explains race producer, Joe Ringsdorf, “drivers have really been impressed with the track at the Clay County Fairgrounds so we expect a good turn out.”

Drivers expected to appear at the race include modified driver Eric Daly, Ricky Steffens of Sioux City and Randy Brands who currently ranks 10th in the modifieds class for Iowa.

The International Motor Contest Association (IMCA), serves as the largest and longest running sanctioning body in auto racing. The association runs by standard rules that apply across the boards for all the IMCA races. IMCA works to make the races affordable and fair for drivers throughout the country.

The IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, 360 modifieds and hobby stocks will race on the newly remodeled dirt track at the Clay County Fairgrounds. The 3/8 mile track has already hosted two races this year and has been receiving positive feedback.
